PRESS

"If [Sons of Apollo] are the music gods, members of Mass Extinction Event must at least hold the title of demi-gods... The guitarists worked incredibly well together, leads and harmonies were traded and blended as only the enthusiastic and dedicated can do...the crowd enthusiastically thanked the band as they ended their set."Ethan "told me he hopes that the band will be able to play more gigs here in Canada after this tour, and so should you."
Alan Cross, ajournalofmusicalthings.com
"Both lead guitarists, the aforementioned Champlin and the namesake of the band, Ethan Weissman, are technically gifted and displayed a variety of shredding and sweeping...their music is technically challenging, interesting, and they played flawlessly. This band is definitely proof that instrumental guitar music is far from dead. Remember the name Ethan Weissman’s Mass Extinction Event because these guys are going places. As a side note, how often do you see two left-handed guitarists in the same band?"Kristian Singh-Nergård, metalexpressradio.com
"Starting off the night was Ethan Weissman’s Mass Extinction Event from Purchase, New York, wasting no time and cutting straight to the intricate yet groovy riffs... Just like Weissman before him, Tony MacAlpine is a wizard of the axe." Chris Aitkens, bucketlistmusicreviews.com
"Ethan caught the heavy metal bug, and he moved rather rapidly into the full-scale virtuosity that playing modern prog-metal requires...The quartet landed a sweet spot opening for legendary prog-shredder Tony MacAlpine at Mohawk Place. They made the most of the opportunity, turning in a blistering hourlong set that displayed not just their dazzling chops, but a strong compositional acumen and a deeply ingrained sense of pacing and dynamics."Jeff Miers, buffalonews.com
